Neighborhood Development Alliance offers a variety of individual counseling and group education opportunities so you can feel confident in reaching your financial goals. Our counseling staff is certified by various state and national organizations and has been providing services for over 30 years.
Our lending department, Centro de Finanzas, is a certified Community Development Financial Institution, and we invest in local communities and the residents who live there by providing critically needed financing often unavailable from mainstream financial institutions.
HOME PURCHASE COUNSELING
Buy your first home with confidence. NeDA offers HUD-approved home purchase counseling. An adviser will help you understand the process from start to finish, including a personalized, full credit report review to help identify potential barriers and get you mortgage-ready. NeDA also partners with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to prepare buyers who may qualify for a Habitat mortgage loan. Habitat loans are designed for buyers who meet certain income qualifications. Some buyers will qualify for a Habitat-developed property, and other buyers may qualify to buy a home on the open market. Homebuyers complete our home purchase counseling, a homebuyer education class, and then are referred directly to Habitat’s program.

NeDA partners with Lutheran Social Service Financial Counseling to offer free, unbiased support to help individuals make sense of their finances. Our certified counselors offer unbiased, relevant, and direct advice to help you get on a bright financial path. We can walk you through the different tools available to reduce your debt, like a Debt Management Plan, which consolidates your credit cards into one monthly payment. NeDA's personal finance workshops for adults and young adults (ages 18 - 22) discuss tips for maximizing your dollar, managing your cash flow, and building savings for your future. We talk about the importance of credit and detail simple steps participants can take to improve their score. Our students learn practical knowledge that will make navigating their daily finances easier. We offer the full workshop to groups that are currently meeting.
